The University of Zakho hosted the 60th meeting of the Kurmanji group

On Sunday, 14th of May, 2017 at 9:00 am, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Kurdish Kurmanji group, of the Kurdish Institute – Paris. In the presence of Prof. Dr. Abdulwahab Khalid Musa, Vice President for Student Affairs, Deans of faculties and bodies, writers, intellectuals, lecturers, university students and the media. The 60th meeting of the Kurmanji group was held at the University of Zakho.
The ceremony began with a speech by Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Khaled Musa; he welcomed the members of the meeting and the guests. Then, he spoke about the work and scientific plans of the University of Zakho. On the other hand, he pointed to the importance of preserving the Kurdish language and the Kurdish heritage, because they form the basis of the Kurdish identity of the West.
After that, Mr. Rasho Zilan, the President of the Kurmanji group delivered a speech on behalf of the members of the Karamanji group, in which he expressed his thanks and gratitude to the University of Zakho for hosting the organisation of the 60th meeting of the Kurmanji group at the University of Zakho. On the other hand, he spoke about the history of the Kurdish struggle. At the end of his speech, he dedicated a book on the Kurdish struggle to Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab Khaled Musa.
It is worth mentioning that, the Kurmanji group, worked on their scientific plans and projects at the University of Zakho from 9:00 am till 6:00 pm for a week. The Kurmanji group of the Kurdish Institute in Paris organised twice meetings a year in different countries. The staffs of the University of Zakho are happy to present the 60th session of the Kurdish-Kermangi group at the University of Zakho.
